ZOAGLI stands in a small cove that opens in the midst of reefs between Chiavari and Rapallo. Was well known already in medieval times for the handicraft production of silks and velvets. During the Second World War has suffered numerous bombings that have partially changed the original appearance. Two towers close to the east and west, the coastal road carved into the rock.
The two small beaches are pebbles. Coming from inland, take the eastern side of the park of Portofino: From the ridge you can take a path that reaches the sanctuary of Montallegro, otherwise you go down to the sea through chestnut, acacia, olive, alder and oak, and
crossing the hilly surroundings Semorile, San Pietro, Sant 'Ambrogio.

The itinerary called "the five towers" touches all the parish churches, some very ancient. In the village of Sant 'Ambrogio has lived the American author Ezra Pound, and not far on the path to Chiavari, the castle is visible in art nouveau style of another writer of international renown, Sem Benelli, built in 1900 after its successful play "Dinner of mockery. Between Rapallo and Zoagli also faces the street the "house" in which he lived for many years, the English writer and illustrator Max Berbaum.
